How AudioWaves turned Secret Story, Chennai into a face-to-face DJ arena built around a boxing ring and powered by a triple-stack sound setup.

Most DJ nights put the booth at one end of the room and the crowd at the other. For the Face-to-Face DJ Arena at Secret Story, Chennai, in September 2026, we threw that layout out. The idea was simple: build the night around a boxing ring, put the DJs in it, and let the whole room gather around it.

It was not our usual DJ setup, and that was the point. A different concept, bigger energy and a room that felt like a main event.

The idea: a ring, not a stage

A boxing ring changes how a room behaves. There is no front and back. Everyone gets a ringside view, and the DJs play face to face, in full view. The ring became the centre of the venue and the lighting and sound were built to serve it.

The build

Here is what went into the arena:

  • A DJ arena built around a boxing ring, as the centrepiece of the room.
  • Triple-stack sound: 6 speakers and 2 subs, so the ring hits hard from every side.
  • QSC monitors in the ring, so the DJs hear exactly what they play.
  • 4 truss pillars framing the ring.
  • Lasers and strobes cutting across the arena.

Why a concept night works

A concept gives people a reason to come, a reason to film, and a reason to talk about it after. The same sound and lights feel completely different when the room is designed around one strong idea. That is the kind of night we love building: the production is not decoration, it is the event.
